Leonardo X Djerassi Program

Summer Session I 

 

Selected for the 2026 Leonardo/ISAST / Djerassi Resident Artists Program residency, Saul Villegas will further develop his interdisciplinary practice at the intersection of art, science, optics, and perception. Building on his work with the Center for Coastal Climate Resilience and the Institute of Marine Sciences, the residency will support new explorations in photography, moving image, immersive media, and speculative environmental storytelling. His research investigates how memory, light, and digital media can transform landscapes into living archives that bridge ecological observation with human experience.
